Restorative Justice Courses

Restorative Solutions is a Community Interest Company (cic) committed to promoting restorative practice through facilitation, consultancy and by training others to use restorative skills.

We are working with a diverse range of organisations in the areas of policing, schools, alternatives to custody, social housing disputes, offender management and assisting practitioners to deliver a restorative intervention.

Training Services

Level 1:
One day delivery of level 1 RJ training for up to 20 participants

Level 2:
Two day Level 2 Training Course for up to 10 participants

Level 3 (three days of training to full conference capability):

A combination of level 1 & 2 for up to 10 participants which will equip the participants with the ability to conduct full restorative conferences suitable for the more difficult, enduring and complex problems or prolific offenders.

Train the Trainers

A two day briefing to deliver levels 1 and 2 training within your own organization, delegates who have previously attended level 1 and 2 training will be equipped with material to deliver these courses within their own organisations.

Usually 1 trainer to 8 delegates, however RScic will discuss organizational needs and provide bespoke packages to suit clients. (E.G. 2 day briefing followed by coaching through a three day training delivery, embedding the skills)

Schools

Level 1 Basic Awareness of Restorative Practice and Use of Restorative Practice skills (1 day) Whole School or small groups

  • Intended to reach all teachers and support staff
  • Covers the background to restorative approaches, and how it is being used
  • The basic Level 1 is ideal for most school staff

This course provides access to RSCIC course materials.

Level 2 Preparation and Restorative Conferencing (2 days):

Level 2 is for staff who deal with more serious incidents that require risk assessment and planning. After this course staff will be able to handle complex cases. Participants need to have completed Level 1. This course also draws on the practical experience of implementing restorative approaches in school settings.

Involves an experienced restorative conferencing facilitator assessing a live conference and providing detailed written feedback on performance and technique. This is particularly relevant for those moving on to train the trainers.

Level 3

A combination of level 1&2 delivered together no previous experience is required.

Level 1 for peers

One day course for up to 20 pupils in using restorative approaches to deal with disputes and conflicts. Widely used in conjunction with peer mentoring.
