Helen graduated from University with a BA with Honours in Psychology and Sociology and later with a MA in Criminal Justice. She is an experienced RJ practitioner and a qualified Trainer. She has attained BTEC Level 4 in Restorative Approaches and has vast amounts of experience facilitating sensitive and complex cases. Helen is passionate about the use of Restorative Justice within the Criminal Justice System, in particular with regards to Hate Crime and Looked after children.
Helen joined Restorative Solutions in September 2015 after working in St Helens Local Authority for the past 9 years. Helen undertook several roles in her time at St Helens Council including Parenting Officer, Youth Offending Team Officer and for the majority of time, as the Victim Liaison Officer. Helen was also the Restorative Justice Lead for St Helens Youth Offending Team and also the Restorative Justice Practitioner lead for Merseyside YOT’s. Prior to that, Helen volunteered for over four years in the Witness Service in Liverpool Crown Court and Local Magistrates Courts.
Helen headed and devised "The Pan Merseyside Policy and Procedure for Working with Victims" for all Greater Merseyside Youth Offending Teams. This policy is now used across Merseyside. She also has a proven track record of building sustainable relationships with stakeholders and developing agreed processes with agencies such as Merseytravel, Chamber of Commerce, and also local Children’s Homes.
In January 2017, Helen was appointed as Training Manager for Restorative Solutions.
