Michael Hartnack is a consultant who was originally employed by Restorative Solutions (CIC), to deliver Pre-Sentence Restorative Justice across ten Pathfinder Crown Court sites across England and Wales.
Prior to joining Restorative Solutions (CIC) in March 2013, Michael was a Chief Superintendent working for Cleveland Police.
As a police officer of thirty years duration, Michael enjoyed a wide and varied career, serving in Northumbria Police, Royal Ulster Constabulary (Now PSNI) and from 2007 until 2013, Cleveland Police where he held senior roles as Head of Performance Review and Inspectorate, Head of Human Resources and six months as Temporary Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for Crime, Operations and Community Justice.
Michael is passionate about the role Restorative Justice has within the Criminal Justice System, and the role Restorative Approaches has within other sectors, such as Education and Health. The Pathfinder Programme for which he had responsibility for delivering, is at the forefront of RJ development in England and Wales and is being evaluated very closely with a view to developing a product which is suitable for national roll out across all criminal courts.
Michael was appointed as Contract Manager for Lincolnshire Police, where Restorative Solutions have won the contract to develop RJ Services across the County of Lincolnshire.
Michael is an experienced Chair of Governors of a Primary School in Sunderland, where he lives and undertakes voluntary work to support schools across the North East and beyond. In his spare time he enjoys caravanning and spending time in the great outdoors.
