Sophie Turner

CARA Project Manager West Yorkshire

Sophie joined Restorative Solutions in 2020 following a career working for Victim Support Greater Manchester. Sophie started off as a frontline staff member (Independent Victim Advocate) working with victims of all crime including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, ASB and hate crime. She provided emotional and practical support, to help victims cope and recover from the crime they had experienced. She then stepped up to be a Team Leader, and then stepped up further to be a Senior Team Leader. Within these two later roles, Sophie managed a team of IVA’s working directly with victims and worked on sensitive police operations. Before this Sophie worked for Prison Advice and Care Trust (PACT), where she worked with the prisoners, their families and their children, in aid of rehabilitation. Sophie is also a qualified IDVA (Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor).

Sophie is currently managing the new CARA (Cautions and Relationship Abuse) Project. CARA is a criminal justice response to victims of domestic abuse by enhanced risk management and holding standard risk offenders to account for their actions. Sophie oversees the CARA Project, the staff who deliver the workshops to the offenders, and the staff who engage with the victims.
