Tony Walker

Tony began using restorative approaches over 20 years ago in a range of situations; Final Warnings, Police Complaints, Staff Conflict, and Community Problem Solving, crime and serious offending.

He has written and organised training for a wide range of organisations and individuals including; Police Officers, YOT workers, Looked after Children, Local Authorities, Teachers, Faith and Community leaders, and Voluntary organisations.

Tony has worked with the Audit Commission, Home Office Training and Accreditation Policy Development Group, Youth Justice Board and Department for Children, Schools and Families in delivering Restorative Approaches nationally and developing National Policy. He continues to practice as a facilitator conferencing serious incidents and crimes and staff grievances.

He has worked overseas with the Norwegian Mediation Service, Czech Probation Service, New Zealand Restorative Justice Trust, Various Police Forces in British Columbia, Canada, as well as giving presentations to Conferences in USA, Finland, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.

Tony served 30 years with Thames Valley Police retiring as an Inspector, during his service had range of responsibilities particularly relevant; Training Manager for the Restorative Justice Consultancy, Force responsibility for Restorative Justice, Schools Policing, Youth Justice and Anti-social behaviour.
