Language barriers in Restorative Justice meetings
Where necessary, we use an external translator service to help victims and offenders communicate....
ARE YOU A GOOD LISTENER, NON JUDGEMENTAL, CONFIDENT AND ABLE TO WORK USING YOUR OWN INITIATIVE?
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE A POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION TO YOUR COMMUNITY?
If the answer is yes, and you live in North Yorkshire and are over 18 years old, then why not become involved in this exciting Restorative Justice Project.
You will gain valuable knowledge and skills in facilitating Restorative Justice Conferences, interviewing victims and offenders and partnership working with professionals within the Criminal Justice System.
It will be your role as the Volunteer Restorative Justice Facilitator to interview those that have been harmed and those that have caused the harm, and then facilitate any resulting face-to-face meetings or correspondence, to help both victims and perpetrators move on positively with their lives.
Volunteers will undergo a 3 day Accredited Restorative Justice Facilitator training course, which will equip them with the skills necessary to facilitate a conference.
To apply, or to find out more information, please contact Dave Pascoe by emailing: DavePascoe@restorativesolutions.org.uk
Closing date for applications: Friday 12th July at 5:00pm
